Cataract
A cataract is a cloudiness of the natural lens of the eye. The lens of the eye is behind the pupil, the center dark part of your eye. When the lens becomes cloudy and interferes with your daily activities, it often makes sense to remove the cataract.

Cataract surgery is an outpatient surgery. Most of the time, some sedative is given through an IV, and then we use drops for anesthesia. There is rarely a need for a stitch. However, I do suggest a patch for each patient so they do not rub their eye in the first 24 hours.
